Hungerford, Berkshire
Walk 1 – 20 minutes
 ‘Starting at the Town Hall the walk continues down the High Street to the local canal, left along the towpath, left again through the churchyard of St Lawrence Church, then through an area called The Croft, and back again to the High Street. The distance covered is about one mile.
The talk includes how Hungerford came by its name, a brief look at the changing styles of the buildings from the seventeenth century to the early twentieth century, a bit of history of the canal and railways in the area, how a canal lock works, plus the story of St Lawrence Church and The Croft.’
